From the recording Acoustically Inclined
"The prominent harmonica of the song make it easy to imagine Bob Dylan himself singing it." T.O. Snobs Music

Being a songwriter it is rare I ever do covers but on this album I do 2. I have long loved this tune and first heard this in my youth at a nursing home when I was a candy striper believe it or not :) I always felt it had this haunting, yearning quality. Years later when I met my partner this was one of the first songs she ever played for me on piano. When I researched the song the soldiers from the First World War would sing this song in very raucous and boisterous manner which made me laugh, to me it seems more lonely and pining.
